Registered Kundalini Yoga Teacher (RKYT-200) Requirements
These standards outline how to become a Registered Kundalini Yoga Teacher (RKYT-200) with Yoga Alliance International.
The RKYT-200 credential is for yoga teachers who have completed foundational Kundalini yoga teacher training or who can show equivalent Kundalini training, teaching experience, and competence through the Yoga Alliance International grandfathering pathway.
RKYT-200 recognizes teachers trained in Kundalini yoga practices, including kriya, mantra, meditation, pranayama, subtle body principles, yogic lifestyle, teaching methodology, and safe class instruction.

A 200-hour Kundalini yoga teacher training program registered with Yoga Alliance International.
Option 2

Option 3
Equivalent Kundalini yoga training, professional teaching background, or substantial experience through Yoga Alliance International’s grandfathering pathway.
Grandfathering may be available for experienced Kundalini teachers who do not hold a formal 200-hour certificate but can provide evidence of training, teaching, mentorship, lineage study, or long-term practice.
Teaching Requirements
No teaching hours are required to register at the RKYT-200 level.
RKYT-200 is an entry-level Kundalini yoga teacher registration for applicants who have completed foundational training or who qualify through equivalent experience.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate basic competence in teaching Kundalini yoga safely, clearly, and ethically.
Scope of Registration
The RKYT-200 credential recognizes foundational Kundalini yoga teaching competence.
It is intended for teachers who offer Kundalini yoga classes, workshops, introductory programs, meditation classes, pranayama sessions, mantra-based practices, and related yoga education.
RKYT-200 is a yoga teaching registration. It is not a medical, psychological, or clinical therapy license.
