The following Teachers Code of Conduct  & Schools Code of Conduct together  collectively are referred to as the Codes.

Teachers

By submitting an application you agree to Teachers Code of Conduct below. We hold the right at anytime for any reason to revoke your membership and to use our Registry Marks for  failure to uphold the Teachers Code of Conduct  or failure to comply with any other policy. After a review  evidence, we will issue a decision in writing whether to revoke your credentials, based on a reasonable judgment of the evidence. You further agree to hold Yoga Alliance International harmless for any losses or damage that may incur as a consequence of the revocation of a credential.  The Teachers Code of Conduct is a follows:

  • Conduct yourself in a professional and conscientious manner.
  • Acknowledge the limitations of your skills and scope of practice and where appropriate, refer students to seek alternative instruction, advice, treatment or direction.
  • Create and maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the practice of yoga.
  • Encourage diversity by respecting all students regardless of age, physical limitations, race, creed, gender, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and privacy of all students.
  • Avoid words and actions that constitute sexual harassment or harassment based on other legal protected characteristics.
  • Adhere to the traditional yoga principles as written in the yamas and niyamas.

Schools

By submitting an application you agree to Schools Code of Conduct below. We hold the right at anytime for any reason to revoke your membership and to use our Registry Marks for  failure to uphold the School Code of Conduct  or failure to comply with any other policy. After  reviewing the evidence, we will issue a decision as to whether to revoke your credentials, based on a reasonable judgment of the evidence. You further agree to hold Yoga Alliance International harmless for any losses or damage that may incur as a consequence of the revocation of a credential.  The Schools Code of Conduct is a follows:

  • Assure you conduct yourself and anyone related to your school in a professional and conscientious manner.
  • Assure that you or anyone related to your school works within their skills and scope of practice
  • Assure that you or anyone related to your school creates and maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the practice of yoga.
  • Assure that you or anyone related to your school respects all
  • Assure you conduct yourself and anyone related to your school adhere to the traditional yoga principles as written in the yamas and niyamas.
  • Assure you conduct yourself and anyone related to your school follow all local government and national laws that pertain to your yoga teaching and business.
